100 Years of Mormonism

In the horse and buggy days of the 1890s, pioneering Mormon artist C.C.A. Christensen created detailed murals depicting events in the fledgling history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, rolled the paintings on aspen poles and traveled from western settlement to settlement sharing his portable message and defining what some term the first moving picture in the Church.

List of films of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

(These films range from  1957 -2014)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This list of films of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints includes the non-commercial motion pictures commissioned by or officially produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Feature-length films are typically premiered and exclusively shown at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building‘s Legacy Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, before being released to Temple Visitors’ Centers, and eventually home use. In the 1970s, the church also commissioned Brigham Young University to produce short films for use in the Church Educational System. These films, shown mostly in the seminaries and institutes of religion, teach religious principles, church history, and general kindness. Released on VHS (and increasingly on DVD), they have become popular home entertainment. A wide variety of these films are now available through Brigham Young University’s Creative Works Office.

These films differ from those of LDS cinema, which are produced without official church involvement.

You Can Change: How to Be Your Best You

January 3, 2017

It’s a new year and, once more, change is in the air. Most of us know the scenario all too well. January rolls around and we talk a big game about how this year will be different. We write down goals. We sign up for Pilates classes. We browse magazines in grocery store checkouts that promise us “17 Secrets to a Happier, Healthier You in 2017.”

Then comes the February fizzle. More often than we care to admit, our good intentions stay just that—intentions, nothing more—and we quit the race having barely crossed the starting line.
