Provo Tabernacle, original exterior

Installing interior steel beam framework; concrete pours for the substructure continue; anticipated to be completed in 2015 (awaiting official announcement)  Announcement:  1 October 2011 Groundbreaking and Site Dedication:  12 May 2012 by Jeffrey R. Holland

Construction Status

As of April 2013, excavation for the new two-level substructure of the Provo City Center Temple and the accompanying underground parking facility is completed. Subgrade utilities and water barriers have been laid, and pouring the new foundation has begun. The former foundation of the building was removed, and the building shell currently stands on steel beams supported by 90-foot steel-and-concrete piles that act as stilts. The interior walls have been coated with shotcrete and braced with steel beams. Due to the delicate work of restoration, reinforcement, and renovation, completion of the temple is not expected until 2015. http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/provocitycenter/
