10 Back to school ‘printable’ projects                                                                                  When the kids go back to school, it can be bittersweet. “Sweet” in that they will be back to learning, structure and social engagements. “Bitter” in that it’s never easy to see them getting a year older. FREE Summer Bubble Wraps and More – Printables

With only a couple of days left to the school year, I’ve been working on some little goody baskets for the kids in my son’s class. True to form, here I am at the last minute trying to finish up!I used the FREE SUMMER PRINTABLES that I designed last week to cover a bottle of bubbles and added some tags to a pinwheel and a little bag of trinkets, too. And I had some cute bubble gum machines that I had left over from a party I added in there, too. I wish Walmart would carry those all the time and not just as special holiday items — aren’t they cute? I think the kids will love their
little summer send-offs.

Strawberry Julius

On a hot day, nothing is more refreshing than a great chilly drink. A couple of weeks ago Hubby and I made a stop at Orange Julius. I hadn’t been there in years. So good.We have a copycat Orange Julius recipe at home and we have made it tons over the years. However, our little impromptu trip to Orange Julius reminded me that they also sell Strawberry Julius. Oh it was heaven!I immediately set out to put together a recipe for this delightful drink so that I could have endless yumminess in my own home. I figured it out and I am sharing it with you.                                        http://www.somewhatsimple.com/2011/07/strawberry-julius.html

Christmas in July with Free Printable

Hey there Somewhat Simple Readers! I’m Kristyn, and I blog over at Lil’ Luna. I’ve tried to make it a place where anyone could come to find recipes, tutorials, printables, ideas and more for any and all occasions. Come check it out!I’m so happy to be here as part of Steph’s “Summer of Service.” What a great idea, right? I don’t know about you but it’s sometimes hard to think about service during this HOT and BUSY {more like CRAZY since the kiddos are home} time of year. But that’s NO excuse, especially because there are SOO many people {family, friends, neighbors, even strangers} who are silently suffering because of these hard economic times.        http://www.somewhatsimple.com/2011/07/christmas-in-july-with-free-printable.html

Summer Schedule Free Printable

We’ve finally made it to summer! My kids have been out of school for a week but
this is our first “real” day of summer vacation because we spent last week out
of town. In honor of summer finally arriving, I thought I would share with you a
bright summer weekly calendar I made to keep my little family from spending
every minute of these long summer days in front of the TV. First, I have
to give lots of credit to Steph at Somewhat Simple for the original idea for the calendar. She offered a free printable calendar here that inspired me to make my own. Check hers out, it may work better for you. Steph gave me the idea to give each day of the week a special theme so that the kids have something to look forward to and I am more likely to follow through with fun stuff if it’s written down! Steph’s days of the week were: make  something Monday, time to read Tuesday, what’s cooking Wednesday, be thoughtful  Thursday, somewhere fun Friday. I knew I wanted to tweak these a bit to fit my family’s schedule.  http://www.inspirationforcelebration.com/2011/06/summer-schedule-free-printable.html

COOL CRAFTIVITY: “WHAT I DID LAST SUMMER” PENCIL BOX

Stock up on plastic pencil boxes, then invite the bunch to decorate them with summer souvenirs brought from home. “We glue photographs, commemorative postcards, and even a ‘kiss from mommy’ (I kissed a sticky note!) to a piece of card stock cut to fit inside the box’s lid,” says Becky Pearson of The Dalles, Oregon. “When the kids return to school, they can recall all their summer fun every time they pull out their supplies.”                 (Scroll down the page to get this article)
